About B. Srinivasa Murthy

B. Srinivasa Murthy studied under the well-known German philosophers, Professor Fritz-Joachim von Rintelen and Professer Gerhard Funke. He received a doctorate in philosophy from the University of Mainz, Germany. Professor S. S. Raghavachar was his mentor in Indian Philosophy at the University of Mysore, India, where Murthy obtained a Masters degree.

Professor Murthy was the recipient of the Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Fellowship and Bhabha Memorial Gold Medal. Murthy was Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, and also taught at Pepperdine University centers in Los Angeles and Orange County. He is emeritus faculty at California State University, Long Beach.

Long Beach Publications was established in 1983 by B. Srinivasa Murthy to publish books in Philosophy, Religion, and Asian Studies.
